Apache Lucene is a high performance, scalable, cross-platform search engine in use in a wide range of applications worldwide. We at CNLP are enthusiastic supporters of the Apache Lucene project and utilize it in a large number of our own projects, including Question Answering, LiVIA, CAT, SAT, AIR (Cross-language Information Retrieval) and many others. Over the years we have built up an extensive knowledge of how to make Lucene perform effectively and efficiently.

Our staff includes several researchers and developers with intimate knowledge of both Information Retrieval (IR) and Apache Lucene, allowing us to help you address your search needs, whether they are practical or theoretical. Our Director, Elizabeth Liddy regularly teaches a graduate level course in Information Retrieval and many of our current employees have completed extensive IR and Natural Language Processing (NLP) coursework. Several of our engineers are active members of the Lucene community and regularly contribute code and advice.
